Our Take

“The jeweller of the kings, and the king of the jewellers” according to King Edward VII, and that tells you everything you need to know about the Cartier brand. Set in a 20 microns 925 silver gold plated round case measuring 30mm in diameter and 35mm from lug to lug, originally a men’s watch but with today’s large sizing, it could be suited to a lady too. The dial is maroon in colour and has aged/cracked, its plain and simple, with gold hands, and the logo at the 12 o’clock position, all covered by a replacement mineral crystal. The crown has been replaced by plain gold plated one. The back case screws in and is signed Cartier #17 021682. The quartz movement has been overhauled and is keeping perfect time. The replacement leather strap will fit a wrist of approximately 7” or 17.5cm. The watch comes without the original box or papers, but a gift box will accompany the watch. Overall a nice watch, but the case and dial show it’s age. Please don’t use this near water as we cannot guarantee water resistance.

About Cartier

“The jeweller of the kings, and the king of the jewellers” according to King Edward VII, and that tells you everything you need to know about the Cartier brand.

First founded in 1847 in Paris, Cartier have gone on to become one of the most sought after brands in the luxury watch and jewellery market. Perhaps best known for the Cartier Tank watch, which was first created in 1917, the Tank went on to become almost famous in its own right – having been worn by Queen Elizabeth II, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Princess Diana and in more recent times, celebrities such as Angelina Jolie.

When it comes to luxury time, then Cartier is a must for your collection.
