About Gucci

Although the Gucci brand first started back in 1906, it was known mainly for the quality leather goods they made, which quickly became world famous. It wasn’t until the 70s that they decided to branch out with fashion watches, with a licensing agreement with Severin Montres (who they would later go on to buy outright in 1997).

While the partnership produced such style icons as the Gucci G watch, so called because the stylised ‘G’ was used as an integral part of the case design, it’s fair to say that it was a case of style over substance – all the watches used a quality Swiss movement.

Gucci watches are instantly recognisable, thanks in part to the often incorporated G logo, and for the stylistas, there’s nothing finer.
