Our Take
Simple and elegant, what more can I say. Longines is a brand that has been around for a long time and has featured in many sporting events as an official timekeeper. Unlike today’s watches with all the bells and whistles, there was a time when less was more and that is very clear with this 1960s piece. It has been crafted in a 10K Gold Filled case with a stainless steel case back, the case measures 34mm in diameter and 40mm from lug to lug, and shows a lovely patina. Although originally a men’s watch, it could suit a lady these days too. The dial is clean and simple, with gold markers and the number ’12’ in its position at the top. The hands are gold and have sweeps seconds for that smooth look. The crown has been replaced with a regular gold crown and is unmarked. The back case has the S&W mark which stands for Schwab and Wuischpard, under the case ticks away a manual wind Longines movement which keeps good time. The crystal is acrylic and is unmarked. The original strap had to be replaced sadly, we used a black genuine leather bracelet which is new and measures around 7” or 17.5cm approximately. All in all a nice piece and would look great on a smaller wrist! Watch comes without box or papers, and there are no guarantees with water resistance, so rather stay away from it.
