Our Take
When you think of Tag Heuer, you think of quality and reliability, and that is exactly what you get here with the Mens midsize ’90s Tag Heuer 4000. Its a sturdy and chunky watch, not as big as today’s watches but still a good size for a man. The timekeeping is perfect as you would expect from Tag Heuer, it’s powered by a quartz ETA movement. Encased in thick stainless steel and enticing us with its rotating bezel, it seems to have lost some of its ‘Click’ though. Case measures 34mm in diameter and 40mm from lug to lug. The dial is beige and clean with the logo in the centre, there are the usual luminous markers, quick set date at 3 o’ clock and Mercedes’ hands which are slightly aged, all kept under the sapphire crystal in perfect condition. The crown can screw in/lock and features the logo, case back also has the logo and screws in. Model/serial numbers are 999.713K #R65158, there are a few scratches, probably from trying to open it. It features the original strap in stainless steel with double lock clasp, s/n 513 and measures approximately 7” or 17.5cm. The original box and papers are long gone, but it will come with a gift box. It has not been pressure sealed, so water resistance is not guaranteed.
