Our Take

The Alter Ego is not the most famous model from Tag Heuer but that does not take away from how special is it. Produced in the early Noughties, it comes in a matt finished round stainless steel case with a beautiful mother of pearl blue dial. The case measures 28mm in diameter and lug to lug 30mm, the strap, marked BA0750, will fit a wrist of approximately 16cm or 6.2”, so suitable for a lady. The crown is uniquely positioned off centre so that it does not press into your wrist, the Tag Heuer logo is evident on the back case. It comes with a Sapphire crystal which means its virtually scratch resistant. Model number WP1312, Serial Number: MJ0980. The watch is in good cosmetic condition, but there is some light surface wear from use. The box and papers are long gone, but a gift box will accompany the watch. Please do not use it near water as it has not been pressure sealed.

About Tag Heuer

Originally known as Heuer, the company was founded in 1860 in St-Imier, the Tag association didn’t come about until 125 years later. Although some of the achievements have been overlooked, Heuer patented the oscillating pinion in 1887, which is still used by watch manufacturers today. Tag Heuer are best known for their sporting lines, such as the Carrera and Monaco, and it’s no surprise to see that wearers have included the likes of Muhammad Ali, Ayrton Senna, Steve McQueen and Tiger Woods.
