Our Take
The 2000 Series range has always been iconic and came in many different designs over the years but this is definitely one of the more desirable ones being one of the first to feature the Chronograph features. It’s sturdy and reliable, the timekeeping is perfect as you would expect from Tag Heuer, powered by a massive 27 jewels quartz ETA movement. Encased in thick stainless steel and enticing us with its gold rotating bezel and the well known ‘Click’! Case measures 38mm in diameter and 42mm from lug to lug, so a good size for today’s man. The dial is black with gold subdials, logo in the centre, there are the usual luminous markers, quick set date at 4 o’ clock and Mercedes’ hands, the chronograph features work as they should, all under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The crown can screw in/lock and features the logo, case back also has the logo and screws in, there is some wear/fading evident here. The model number is 565.306. It features the original strap in steel and gold plating (some wear to plating) with double lock clasp, s/n 326/3 and measures approximately 7.5” or 19cm. The watch comes with an original box and the booklets. It has not been pressure sealed, so water resistance is not guaranteed.
