Our Take

Rado is a well known Swiss brand worldwide, and although a relatively young, its craftsmanship is in impeccable. This great example of the classic 1980s Green Horse doesn’t disappoint, its a good size, suitable for today’s man, measuring 34mm in diameter and 43mm from lug to lug. The stainless steel case is in great shape, the steel back screws in and exhibits the ‘Green Horse’ logo. The dial is a yellow colour, with gold markers, date/day at 6 o’ clock, and has been refurbished so is in excellent condition, all under an acrylic crystal. It’s worth mentioning that the calendar can be in both English and Spanish. The crown has been replaced as the original was too damaged and works as it should. The watch is powered by an automatic movement with 17 jewels and keeps good time. The model number is 606.3310.4G and the serial number is 54064920. The bracelet has been replaced with a regular leather bracelet/buckle and will fit a wrist of about 7” or 17.5cm approximately. The watch comes without the original box, but a gift box will be provided. Water-resistance is not guaranteed so please do not use it near water.

About Rado

Started life as Schlup & Co. in 1917, but started selling watches under the Rado brand in the 50s. Best known for the innovative design and use of revolutionary materials such as ceramic, giving the watches a unique look and feel.

The ceramic style was started when they incorporated it with the ‘Integral’ watch, although only in the bracelet, it took a bit longer for the ‘Ceramica’ to come along, which was the first watch to be made entirely with ceramic.

Rado watches are elegant, stylish and subtle, they don’t shout at you like other brands, but certainly, show that you have an appreciation of horology.
