Our Take

Whether you are a watch collector, an enthusiast, or just looking for a gift for your loved one, you cannot go wrong with a Tissot timepiece. This Tissot Ballade dates back to the mid-’90s with its stainless-steel case and gold coin rimmed bezel measuring around 24mm in diameter and 28mm from lug to lug, it’s rather petite. It has a precise Tissot quartz movement, which works as it should and keeps perfect time, all encased under a sapphire crystal. The textured dial is beige and has a combination of stick markers and Roman numerals, the date is located between 4 and 5 o’clock. A stainless case back, stamped Swiss Pack #C217/317C, is slightly faded/scuffed but at least it’s hidden while worn! The crown bears the logo and is a bit tight but functions as it should. The bi-metal strap is original with a butterfly clasp and will fit up to a 6.3” or 15.5cm wrist approximately. The watch comes without original box and papers but will have a gift box to accompany it. It has not been pressure sealed, so please do not use it near water.

About Tissot

“Innovators by tradition” has been the phrase behind Tissot since the founding of the company in 1853. As proof of that, they’ve been responsible for: first mass-produced pocket watch, first pocket watch with dual time zones, first to make watches from plastic (Idea 2001), rock (RockWatch), mother of pearl (the Pearl watch) and wood.

Also introduced the ‘T-Touch’ technology in 1999, which have touch-sensitive sapphire crystals to control functions.

They now work with a number of organising sporting bodies to develop ever-more accurate timing solutions, whether that’s cycling, motorcycling, fencing or hockey. Notable wearers include Grace Kelly,
James Stewart and Nelson Mandela.
