Our Take

Rado is a brand that not everyone may know, but for those that do, they love it! Their innovation in design and materials used to come up with some of the worlds most unique watches was unprecedented for the time. This 1980s Voyager is a classic, it’s midsize and originally designed for men but today would suit a lady as well, measuring only 32mm in diameter and 36mm from lug to lug. The stainless steel case retains excellent definition with its uniquely shaped bezel and is in good condition. The steel back pops in and is in good condition, it bears the logo (faded) and model number #2660.694, it has been highly polished. The champagne dial is slightly aged with diamante at markers at 12, 3, 6, and 9. It has black baton-shaped hands with elegant sweep seconds and a date/day window at the 3 o’clock position. The anchor in the centre moves as it should and is all kept under a brand new mineral crystal. The crown is signed with the logo. The watch is powered by an automatic movement with 17 jewels and keeps good time. The strap has been replaced with a black leather bracelet and will fit a wrist of about 7.5” or 19cm approximately. The watch comes without the original box but will be accompanied by a gift box. Water-resistance is not guaranteed so please do not use it near water.

About Rado

Started life as Schlup & Co. in 1917, but started selling watches under the Rado brand in the 50s. Best known for the innovative design and use of revolutionary materials such as ceramic, giving the watches a unique look and feel.

The ceramic style was started when they incorporated it with the ‘Integral’ watch, although only in the bracelet, it took a bit longer for the ‘Ceramica’ to come along, which was the first watch to be made entirely with ceramic.

Rado watches are elegant, stylish and subtle, they don’t shout at you like other brands, but certainly, show that you have an appreciation of horology.
