Simple and elegant, what more can I say. Longines is a brand that has been around for a long time and has featured in many sporting events as an official timekeeper. Unlike today’s watches with all the bells and whistles, there was a time when less was more and that is very clear with this 1970s piece. It has been crafted in a gold plated case with a stainless steel case back, the case measures 22mm in diameter and 24mm from lug to lug, and is in good condition with only light wear. The gold dial is clean and simple, with stick markers, the logo in the centre, and black baton-shaped hands, the dial shows some ageing. The crown bears the original logo. The back case is steel and pops in and the serial number is 19048403, under the case ticks away a 6 jewels quartz Longines movement which keeps perfect time. The crystal is mineral and has some light surface wear. The inner case reference is 4463.700. The original strap has been replaced with a brown genuine leather bracelet which is new and measures around 6.5” or 16.5cm approximately. The watch comes without box or papers but will be accompanied by a gift box. There are no guarantees with water resistance, so rather stay away from it.
