Our Take
Simple and elegant, what more can we say. Longines is a brand that has been around for a long time and has featured in many sporting events as an official timekeeper. Unlike today’s watches with all the bells and whistles, there was a time when less was more and that is very clear with this 1970s piece. It has been crafted in a gold plated rectangular case with a stainless steel case back, the case measures 21mm in diameter and 23mm from lug to lug, and is in good condition with only light wear. The dial is clean and simple, with black markers, the logo in the centre, and black sword-shaped hands. The gold crown bears the original logo. The back case is plain and the serial number is 18902737, under the case ticks away a 17 jewels manual wind Cal. L.317.4 Longines movement which keeps good time. The crystal is mineral and is in good condition. The inner case reference is 817 1137. The original strap has been replaced with a black genuine leather bracelet which is new and measures around 6.3” or 16cm approximately. The watch comes without box or papers but will be accompanied by a gift box. There are no guarantees with water resistance, so rather stay away from it.
