Our Take

Today, Tissot is part of the Swatch group, the worlds largest producer and distributor of Swiss watches! This Tissot dates back to the early ’90s with its gold plated oval-shaped case and plain bezel measuring around 20mm in diameter and 32mm from lug to lug, a rather petite ladies watch. It has a Tissot quartz movement, which works as it should and keeps perfect time. The gold dial is clean with gold stick markers (one marker missing at the 6 positions) and gold sword-shaped hands all under a mineral crystal which is unfortunately pretty scratched. The stainless case back is marked Tissot #323.S826 and simply pops in. The crown is unsigned so may have been replaced at some point. The original gold plated bi-metal strap is faded in places and will fit up to a 6.7” or 17cm wrist approximately. Overall, a nice little watch, but definitely showing its age. The watch comes without the original box and papers but will have a gift box to accompany it. It has not been pressure sealed, so please do not use it near water.

About Tissot

“Innovators by tradition” has been the phrase behind Tissot since the founding of the company in 1853. As proof of that, they’ve been responsible for: first mass-produced pocket watch, first pocket watch with dual time zones, first to make watches from plastic (Idea 2001), rock (RockWatch), mother of pearl (the Pearl watch) and wood.

Also introduced the ‘T-Touch’ technology in 1999, which have touch-sensitive sapphire crystals to control functions.

They now work with a number of organising sporting bodies to develop ever-more accurate timing solutions, whether that’s cycling, motorcycling, fencing or hockey. Notable wearers include Grace Kelly,
James Stewart and Nelson Mandela.
