Our Take

Born in 1946, it wasn’t till 1975 that Dior branched out to watches, and boy, are we glad they did! This classy ladies Dior Malice dates back to the mid-noughties with its stainless-steel rectangular case and plain bezel screaming minimalist at its best! It has a precise Dior Swiss quartz movement, which works as it should and keeps perfect time. The mother of pearl dial is beautiful and elegant with only markers at the 4 main positions, all encased under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The crown is steel and signed with the CD logo. A stainless case back stamped Christian Dior #D78-109 s/n EC731 completes the watch and measuring around 19mm in diameter and 24mm from lug to lug, it’s rather petite. The stainless steel strap is original and features the classic CD links unique to this brand, will fit a wrist of up to 7” or 17.5cm approximately. Overall a lovely watch, really classy, but it does show some general surface wear and could benefit from a polish. The watch comes with the original box and papers. It has not been pressure sealed, so please do not use it near water.

About Christian Dior

Originally founded as a ‘Fashion House’ in 1946-7, it took nearly thirty years for Dior to move into luxury watches, and a further 26-years before manufacturing them independently. For the main part, Dior was a perfume manufacturer, but 2001 saw the release of the ‘Chris 47 Aluminum’ line of watches, and although Dior jewellery and watches were very much feminine, they started producing the Dior Homme
collection.

Dior watches are marked out by their design, which tends to be a mixture of elegant jewellery, and functional timekeeping. Always a favoured watch brand when people are looking for something a little more glamorous.
