Our Take

High-performance technology and enduring quality, following the Bulova tradition. Designed in NYC. Set in a gold plated rectangular case measuring 26mm in diameter and 34mm from lug to lug, a midsize watch suitable for both gents and ladies alike. The Art Deco style bezel is gold plated and cascades down towards the case itself, some plate wear is evident here. A light brown aged dial with champagne hexagonal centre, with gold hands, and the quick set date at the 3 o’clock position, all covered by a mineral crystal. The crown is gold plated and unsigned. The steel back case pops in and has the brand name and ref G38. The watch is powered by a quartz movement and is running as it should, keeping perfect time. The replacement genuine leather strap will fit a wrist of approximately 7” or 17.5cm. The watch comes with the original box and guarantee booklet stamped 1990. Please don’t use this near water as we cannot guarantee water resistance.

About Bulova

In what seems to be something of a rarity today, Bulova is an American based watch manufacturer, first found in 1875, making it just less than a century younger than the country itself. Today, the Bulova brand is owned by Citizen and has been since 2008.

Perhaps Bulova’s biggest achievement was that it was the first privately owned watch that saw active service on the moon, after a failure of another well-known brand’s watch. The Bulova Chronograph Model #88510/01 later sold for $1.625 million.

Many of the vintage Bulova models are branded under the ‘Accutron’ name, which lays claim to being the first electronic watch, thanks to its ‘tuning fork’ design – giving the watch a faint, high-pitched hum.
