Our Take

The iconic Wood Watch from Tissot, now this is something unique, especially this particular model from the late 80s, what’s also amazing is that it is in an almost new condition. Its quartz movement keeps perfect time as you would expect from a Swiss watch. The wooden case measures 32mm in diameter and 32mm from lug to lug, a good size for a smaller wrist. The dial is completely wooden with a unique grain pattern, it also has a gold hour and minute hand, all under the mineral crystal in perfect condition. The gold polished crown is unmarked, the case back features the logo and screws in. Model number W150 #95-851. The original strap in brown leather with a unique foresty pattern and measures approximately 7.5” or 19cm. The watch comes with the original box and papers. It has not been pressure sealed, so water resistance is not guaranteed.

About Tissot

“Innovators by tradition” has been the phrase behind Tissot since the founding of the company in 1853. As proof of that, they’ve been responsible for: first mass-produced pocket watch, first pocket watch with dual time zones, first to make watches from plastic (Idea 2001), rock (RockWatch), mother of pearl (the Pearl watch) and wood.

Also introduced the ‘T-Touch’ technology in 1999, which have touch-sensitive sapphire crystals to control functions.

They now work with a number of organising sporting bodies to develop ever-more accurate timing solutions, whether that’s cycling, motorcycling, fencing or hockey. Notable wearers include Grace Kelly,
James Stewart and Nelson Mandela.
