Our Take
The 1500 Series came out in a dizzyingly array of models during the 80s and 90s, which was said to be the lifeblood of the brand during their transition from Heuer to Tag Heuer in 1985. This being one of the most popular in the series, its case is thicker and heavier than before measuring 38mm in diameter and 44mm from lug to lug, still a good size for today’s man. The dial is jet black and clean with the logo in the centre, there are luminous markers, quick set date at 3 o’clock and luminous Mercedes hands, all under a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The unidirectional black/steel bezel rotates and has the well known ‘Click’ as it turns. The crown can screw in/lock and features the logo, case back is embossed with the logo and screws in. Model numbers are WD1210-00 and serial #EO4411. It features the original strap in stainless steel with a double lock clasp, s/n 610/810 and measures approximately 7.87” or 20cm. Overall the watch is in great condition for its age. The watch comes without the original box or papers, but a gift box will accompany it. It has not been pressure sealed, so water resistance is not guaranteed.
