Our Take

Tissot goes a long way back, all the way to 1853, and the amount of awards they have won over the years is endless, this fact makes it surprising that a Swiss brand can still be so affordable, but it is! This Tissot PR 50 dates back to the mid-’90s with its stainless-steel case measuring around 26mm in diameter and 32mm from lug to lug, a small ladies watch. It has a precise Tissot quartz movement, which works as it should and keeps perfect time, all encased under a sapphire crystal which clearly shows the Arabic markers and the date, located at the 3 o’clock position. A stainless case back, stamped with the logo and model number J132/232K completes the watch off nicely. The original stainless steel strap was replaced with a black leather bracelet and will fit a wrist up to a 6.75” or 17cm approximately. Overall it’s in great condition, with only light surface wear which does not affect its wearability. The watch comes without original box and papers but will have a gift box to accompany it. It has not been pressure sealed, so please do not use it near water.

About Tissot

“Innovators by tradition” has been the phrase behind Tissot since the founding of the company in 1853. As proof of that, they’ve been responsible for: first mass-produced pocket watch, first pocket watch with dual time zones, first to make watches from plastic (Idea 2001), rock (RockWatch), mother of pearl (the Pearl watch) and wood.

Also introduced the ‘T-Touch’ technology in 1999, which have touch-sensitive sapphire crystals to control functions.

They now work with a number of organising sporting bodies to develop ever-more accurate timing solutions, whether that’s cycling, motorcycling, fencing or hockey. Notable wearers include Grace Kelly,
James Stewart and Nelson Mandela.
