Our Take

The Maurice Lacroix 71600 is a classy ladies watch, produced way back in the ’70s, it has a simple and elegant look. The gold plated case measures 26mm in diameter and 30mm from lug to lug, and it’s in good condition for its age with only minimal wear. The dial is black with no markers, the logo is evident in the centre and the baton-shaped hands, gold. The mineral crystal has some scratches, the gold crown has a cabochon and winds the movement/sets the time. The steel back case is stamped, Swiss Made and although a little scratched, it will be hidden by your arm! The manual wind movement is running well and is keeping good time. The original bracelet has been replaced by a brown leather strap, it measures around 6.5” or 16.5cm approximately. The watch comes without the original box or papers, but a gift box will accompany the watch. Please don’t use this near water as we cannot guarantee water resistance.

About Maurice Lacroix

Although the company that first created Maurice Lacroix was formed in 1889, and did have significant links to the watch trade, Maurice Lacroix only formed in 1975. Unusually, the manufacturer had the capability to produce their own cases, but didn’t produce their own first in-house movement until 2006.

Not a traditional, centuries-old maker, but well respected and the vintage lines are collectible thanks to the elegant style that they bring to any outfit. Think sophisticated rather than utility.
