Our Take

This retro ’90s Gucci unique interchangeable bezel watch is not just your typical piece of jewellery. The case is made from stainless steel and has been gold plated, it is robust and sturdy in its craftsmanship, there is some light surface wear from use, it measures 26mm in diameter and 26mm from lug to lug. The dial has a white minimalist design and has the iconic word Gucci in the centre. The glass has been well looked after and made from sapphire crystal so very durable. The case back has the logo and model number 11/12 as well as the serial #0080495, again expect some light surface wear. It is battery powered and keeps perfect time as you would expect from a Swiss-made watch. The crown is original and features the logo. The Gold plated chain link strap with buckle features the logo measures around 6.7” or 17cm. The watch comes with the original box but the papers are long gone. It is not pressure sealed so please do not use it near water.

About Gucci

Although the Gucci brand first started back in 1906, it was known mainly for the quality leather goods they made, which quickly became world famous. It wasn’t until the 70s that they decided to branch out with fashion watches, with a licensing agreement with Severin Montres (who they would later go on to buy outright in 1997).

While the partnership produced such style icons as the Gucci G watch, so called because the stylised ‘G’ was used as an integral part of the case design, it’s fair to say that it was a case of style over substance – all the watches used a quality Swiss movement.

Gucci watches are instantly recognisable, thanks in part to the often incorporated G logo, and for the stylistas, there’s nothing finer.
