Originally founded in 1884, Breitling has remained a consistent contender in the luxury watch market, offering models that are typically based on aviation or nautical themes, such as the Navitimer or SuperOcean, although of course, they offer the unique Breitling Emergency with a built-in emergency transponder.
For the main part, Breitling sourced quality movements from manufacturers such as Valjoux or ETA, but in 2009 they developed their own B01 movement, and all of their current models are certified chronometers – a standard introduced by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres which guarantees an internationally recognised standard of manufacture and time-keeping.
Vintage Breitling models are very much sought after; they work well with most styles and fashions and keep reliable time.
