Although American owned now, Movado can trace its roots back to 1881 as the LAI Ditescheim & Freres SA company, which changed to Movado in 1905. Movado are perhaps best known for the ‘Museum’ watch.
The Museum watch is a design classic, so good in fact that in 1960, it was selected for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the key to it is simplicity – a relatively plain face with a marker at the 12 O’clock position.
