Rather surprisingly, Oris don’t have the same reputation as some of the other Swiss brands, but perhaps their ‘special movements at competitive prices’ thinking hasn’t helped with that. First founded in 1904, Oris have been at the forefront of luxury Swiss watches ever since, even becoming one of the top ten largest manufacturers in the 1960s.
With models like the Diver, Big Crown and the Chronoris, Oris have segmented their business into a number of key areas such as motorsport, aviation and aquatic. Although strictly a mechanical manufacturer today, they did produce some quartz watches in the 80s.
