“Innovators by tradition” has been the phrase behind Tissot since the founding of the company in 1853. As proof of that, they’ve been responsible for: first mass-produced pocket watch, first pocket watch with dual time zones, first to make watches from plastic (Idea 2001), rock (RockWatch), mother of pearl (the Pearl watch) and wood.
Also introduced the ‘T-Touch’ technology in 1999, which have touch-sensitive sapphire crystals to control functions.
They now work with a number of organising sporting bodies to develop ever-more accurate timing solutions, whether that’s cycling, motorcycling, fencing or hockey. Notable wearers include Grace Kelly,
James Stewart and Nelson Mandela.
